In the exposé, James Smith had the products tested through a company called Eurofins. I reached out to them myself, but it turns out they don’t do creatine testing locally in Australia—they send the samples overseas, which means costs go way up. Not ideal for a startup.
After calling around, I was eventually referred to Macquarie University’s Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (APAF). They’ve been doing high-end protein and compound analysis for over 25 years, and they’re:
- Supported by Bioplatforms Australia
- Funded by the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS)
- Accredited by NATA (ISO/IEC 17025 compliance)
They recommended I send 20 gummies of each flavour (about 60g per flavour) to run tests on creatine content, as well as creatinine (a by-product of creatine breakdown, which can help indicate freshness or degradation).
The cost? $185 per sample. Much more manageable, and I should have results within a week of the samples arriving.
